#SDines: Gerry’s Plus Balibago

Last Dec. 14, Gerry Plus Balibago opened its doors to the public with a bang!

Having been in the food industry for more than 18 years already, serving everyone the most delicious Filipino food, the Gerry’s Plus that’s situated along Mc Arthur Highway in Balibago Angeles City has now become a great addition to the growing family of Gerry’s Grill food chain. It is the first branch outside Metro Manila and only second in the country.

Why ‘Plus’, you say? That is because aside from the fact that it is located away from their usual set up, which is the mall setting, Gerry’s Plus caters more food on the menu compared to Gerry’s Grill restaurants. The wider food selection, which is still cohesive, gives us diners a lot more options at any given occasion. It takes the Filipino dining experience to a new level with its more hip, and casual ambiance–with new dishes that have started to become cult favorites: Prime Beef Kaldereta, Oriental Liempo, Salpicao, Pork Spareribs, Lava Cake and Choco Chip ala Mode, among others. Gerry’s Plus Balibago is also the first Gerry’s to serve wood fired brick oven pizza.

But wait, we are not only talking about one brand here but two more brand concepts Gerry’s brought to Kapampangans. These are Ramen Sora and Yakitori Binchotan that have already built a solid following. They were both straight from Japan’s food capital, Sapporo.

Ramen Sora, a 5-star tripadvisor.com-rated restaurant, uses traditional methods of preparing ramen. Its Miso base goes with only the best and the freshest ingredients.

Whilst Yakitori Binchotan uses Binchotan, which is a special kind of charcoal found only in Japan, to bring out the taste of Yakitori.

Gerry’s has partnered with popular Japanese chefs Yoshinari Ichise, Tomio Takada, and Norio Suzuki, who have succesfully expanded their restaurant chains in Japan and US, and now in the Philippines.


It was a priviledge for me to be invited on Gerry’s Plus opening last December 14. Press and important people alike witnessed the blessing of the restaurant and the ribbon cutting followed by a great fireworks display.

Sir Red of Gerry’s Plus was so accommodating and Sir Francis from Marketing, took time to talk to us everything about the resataurant.
