Hooded eyes

Behind the lids, you don’t know

The sorrow, the pain, he wanted to forgo.

Behind the closed doors, you don’t hear

The cry of burden, the wail of sadness, he feared.

Behind the windows shut, you don’t see

The soul distressed; he longed to be free.

And behind the masked face, you don’t realize

Someday, somehow, he wanted to finalize.
